The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P~M. with the following present: Super- ~isor.Albertson; D~marest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and. Clark; Town ;. Supt. of Highways and Town clerk Richmond. Moved by councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Justice clark; RESOLVED: That the minutes of the Annual Meeting of January 6, 1962 be and they are duly approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; JUStices Tuthill and Clark. ~ Moved by Justice clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwoht; RESOLVED: That the next monthly meetin~ of this Town Board will be held at thecoffice of supervisor Lester M. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthi!l: ~EREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District has by contract retained the firm of Johnson and Williams, Public Accountants, of 774 Board Street,.Waterford, Conn., to perform auditory and accounting service for said District effective January 1, 1962 to December 31, 1962 at the annual fee of $900.00 to be paid quarterly, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the S~thold Town Boardapproves said Contract. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WI~EREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Fishers Island Ferry Dist~i'~t at a me'eti~g held December 6, 1961 by resolution granted Ernest John Bowles, purser of the M/V Mystic Isle an increase of $400.00 in his annua~ cpmpensation effective as of January 1, 1962, and · ~ WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold has requestad'~that said resolution be amended to show subject increase is a merit in- crease only and not to be considered as an annual increment tO'b~ given each year, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That'subject resolution of the Board' of Commissioners of December 6, ~1961, relative'to an increase ~f $400.00 in the annual compensation Of Ernest John Bowles, purser iS~hereby amended to read as follows; ' ~ Quote "And be it resolved that said increase of $400.00 per year shall be effective as of January 1, 1962 and shall be Considered as a merir increase and not an annual increment to be regularly given each year. Moved by ~ouncilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on December 6, 1961, adopted a resolution creating the position of freight agents and establishing annual ~compensation' therefor as f~llows: New London Terminal Freight Agent~ $4,200.00 per year FisherS'Island Terminal Greight Agent--- 4,600.00 per year and WHEREAS, said Board of CommisSioners at a meeting held on December 21, 1961, adopted a resolution appointing John Pickett as the freight agent at Fishers Island at an annual compensation ~f $4,600.00 and ~ appointed Elizabeth Wilcox as freight agent at the New London, Conn. terminal at an annual compensation~ ~f $4,200.00"and appointed ROwland Oswald as relief agent at Fishers Island at an annual compgnSation of $4,600.~00, and WHEREAS, said resol~ns were submitted to this board for i~s approval, and .... WHEREAS, the Town Board has given the subjecf ~ these resolutions considerable deliberation and believes that the aCtion of the Board of commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in adopting said resolutions~was not in the best interest of said district, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the Town Board does not approve of the action of the Board of commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in adopting the aforesaid resolutions. New 1962 International Dump Truck Model R192 complete with one new Gar-Wood Model G-C-2-4- Yard dump body with Model A-50-10- ton hoist, or equal, specificationsof which may be obtained at the off- ice of the Supt. of Highways, Peconic, N.Y. One International Dump Truck must be taken in trade, as part payment on new truck. Vote of Town Board: ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthlll and Clark. The question of forming two light districts was discussed at great length, one to be at Eugene Heights and one at Greenport. It was decided to,find out how the people felt about a light district whichlwould include~all land between Mill Creek and East Marion Light District. Adjournment was at 6:25 P.Mi Albert W. WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING - We, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of-~ Southold, Suffolk county, New York, do hereby severally waive notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held at Greenport, in-the town of Southold, New York, on-~hida~pJa~ary 19, 1962, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said ~-ate for the transaction of any business which may properly come before this meeting. The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at 9:00 A.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwoht; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, the accounts of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson were audited and the annual report was filed, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That such annual statement of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be ~ntered in detail in the minutes of this meeting by the Town Clerk as required by Section 105 or.the Town Law. (Report follows m~ of meeting) · Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District wish advertise for bids and contract to furnish labor and material to e~ect sheet pile bulkhead at the New London Terminal at the Fishers Island Ferry District, located at the foot of State Street, New Lo~don, Conn.' and to replace one pile of the five (5) pile delphi~, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves of the action of the Commissioners Of the Fishers Island Ferry District.
