The SOUthold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson
at Gre~nport, New ¥~k, on Thursday, January 4, 1962. The meeting was
calledt~ order at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Lester
Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark;
Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Cl~rk Richmond.
Moved by Justice clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the m~nutes of the Special Meeting of December 28, 1961,
be and they hereby are duly approved.

RESOLVED: That the next regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be
held at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, at 16 South
Street, Green~ort, N.Y. on Thursday, January 11, 1962 at 3:00 P.M.

RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry be and he hereby is appointed enforeement
officer for both Multiple Residence and the said Building Zone Ordinance
for a term of one year, commencing Janaary 1, 1962 and expiring December
31, 1962, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the total salary for both positions be and hereby is fixed
at the. sum of $5,800.00 per year, payable in regular monthly payments
during said term, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with

WHEREAS, Section 64 of the Town Law requires the Town Board to designate
by resolution banks in this State in which the Supervisor or any other
officer of the Town shall deposit all monies coming into their hands by
~irtue of their offices, and
WMRREAS, athe Town Board may require any Bank so designated to deposit
with such Board the Bonds or certificates of the United States, of the
State of New York, or any County, Town City, Village or School District
of the State of New York as security for such f~nds so deposited but
such bonds or certificates shall be subject to the approval of the Town
Board and shall be deposited in such place and held under such condition
as the Town Board may determine, now, therefore, be it

Receiver Of Taxes that he is in receipt of such tax and assessment roll
and warrants, ahd that the taxes and assessments therein may be paid to
the Receiver of Taxes at the times and with penalty other than his prin-
cipal office when and where he will attend for the receip~ of taxes and
assessments in accordance with Section 22 of the Suffolk COunty Tax Act,

to Section 6 of Articte-~iii of the Constitution. and by-laws of said "

RESOLVED: That Ralph W. Tuthilt be designated as Alternate t~ cast the

WHEREAS, the Town Board has learned with deep soroow of the death of
Wayiand Jefferson, the Historian of the Town of South old, and
WHEREAS? Wayland Jefferson has served the Town of Southold faithfully
as Town H~t~ 18', 1935,
N~N, THEREFORE, BEIT R~ESOLVED: That in recogn&tion of the long and
untiring service of Wayland Jefferson as Town Historian of the Town
of Southold, the Town Board hereby expresses its sorrow at'h the loss
of a good personal friend as well as a valuable TOWn official, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That ~nen the Town Board adjourns this day, it
do so out of respect to the memory of Wayland Jefferson, and
BE IT FURTHER RE~OLVED: That a copy of this resolution be made part of
the official minutes of the Town Board of the Town of SeUthold and that

WHEREAS, Henry J. and Stella M. Smith have made written application to
the Town Board dated the 15th day of Nov., 1961, to dedicate a certain
highway at Indian Neck, Peconic, N.Y. Town of Southold, to-be known as
Robinson Lane, being more fully described~in said petition, togeSher with
releases executed by the owners thereof, and
W~EREAS, the Highway Supt. has inspected said highway and has advised
the Town Board that said proposed highway complies in all respects to
the SPecifications for the dedication of highways in the Town of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section 171 of

employees of the Town of Southold shall be entitled to be.absent frQm
work due to sick~ess for 12 days in each year during which absence such
officer or employee shall receive full pay, provided however tha~rsuch
officer or employee must, when requested~ by his superior, submit a
written statement from a doctor certifying th~-~such personis unable to
perform his usual duties due to sickness. Any such leave not~ used in
any year may be accumulate~ to ~he extent of~.90 days.
