The Board, having duly convened, has considered each and every complaint or grievance on the assessments for the tax year indicated, as filed with this Board, as prescribed by law. A majority of the Board has determined that all the changes indicated on the attached page(s) will be made on the assessment roll by the Assessor. And I could have him- Dan McConlogue: Do you have any of his notes? I'm sorry. Kimberly Richter: Yes, I have a few notes, a few comparisons. Dan McConlogue: If it might help, I don't want to waste your time or the assessors' time, you can put it in and see what he says. Darline Duffy: Well, Kim is really not familiar with the process whatsoever. You know, I've talked to her husband a few times this past week and he told me he's going to look over everything, but he really- he came in yesterday, he came in one day last week and we talked. He came in yesterday and we talked. I told him I would make a small reduction. You know, on my part. And I guess this is a new house; they're newly in the community, and they're afraid to give up their rights because he's in London. So I told her that she probably should turn in a grievance form. You know when you send out for more information and it would give them another bite of the apple, so to speak. Tom Ryan: So you want to have an adjourned meeting. Darline Duffy: Yes Tom Ryan: Is that your request? Kimberly Richter: Um, well I concur with her. That's fine with me. Jonathan Wiggins: When will your husband be back? Jonathan Wiggins: That is a good day because we are meeting other people then too. It's the end of the ten days. Kimberly Richter: That's a really good day. And I know he's home all day. Phyllis Atkinson: Oh OK. Jonathan Wiggins: We will meet you here at 9:30 in the morning, would that be good? Kimberly Richter: 9:30 AM? OK. Thank you. Jonathan Wiggins: Well, Maria (?) has a doctor's appointment. I will have to check on that. This could happen. Darline Duffy: If they submit, then you look over there at whatever they turn in and then they don't even discuss it. Jonathan Wiggins: It's an early doctor's appointment in Stonybrook. It's OK. So you have submissions today? Darline Duffy: You are going to hand them the paperwork. Kimberly Richter: OK Darline Duffy: And that is going to preserve your right to be heard later. Dan McConlogue: There is no mystery to this. You know, it's the market value and it's trying to arrive with the market value. Any basically they go in comparable sales. How is it similar to you and yours is new. . Kimberly Richter: Yes. Dan McConlogue: A lot of times when it is new they arrive at market value by the construction crew and these are from the first year. But we take everything. Do you have any -- problems? Kimberly Richter: I have got a couple here from the area. Jonathan Wiggins: OK, you need to sign part 5. This is a signature of the owner. (not audible) Darline Duffy: I made copies for him, you know, he asked me for certain cards and I made copies for him yesterday. But then he would go out. She said he would go out last night - (not audible) Jonathan Wiggins: Mrs. Richter, please sign that sheet, part 5. You're good. (not audible) Jonathan Wiggins: Well these are all in the neighborhood; these are all new homes in the area. Phyllis Atkinson: Do you need those back for your husband to look at? Kimberly Richter: Um, do I need them back? We'll do it again. Jonathan Wiggins: Kim, your husband will have an opportunity to submit any additional. But if you're trying to get something in now, is there anything you would like to say about the comparables? I need her property card. Just hand it right up. Darline Duffy: We were going to stip to a number but they decided to come before you instead. Jonathan Wiggins: So you're at a total of $ 12,000 and the other homes are at less than that. Is your home bigger than these homes? Darline Duffy: Yes, the majority of them. One is fairly comparable. One on Clipper Dr. Mr. Torkelson's house I thought was kind of -- We haven't pulled any along the water which would be probable sizes except they are on the water. Dan McConlogue: Just so I understand, the one that might be comparable is at what address? Darline Duffy: I don't know the address, I'm sorry- Mr. Torkelson's house. . ~ Jonathan Wiggins: I didn't get that. Darline Duffy: Torkelson, TOR K E L SON Jonathan Wiggins: They're on Clipper Dr? Darline Duffy: Correct. The house is within 300 sq. feet, same size. It is also a very good quality house as is the subject property. They are also within $300 of each other I believe in assessment. Phyllis Atkinson: How old is Torkelson's? Darline Duffy: I don't know. Dan McConlogue: I think what we are saying is that you submitted a comparable sale and the assessor says, yes that is comparable. And the assessment is within $300 of your house. Kimberly Richter: I don't think that ours is unreasonably high. I was just wondering if they could bring it down a little bit. I think it is in the ballpark of what we are expecting. Dan McConlogue: So your position is that your house is like that house but it is not- the market value is not as high and any reason for that? Kimberly Richter: I don't know. That is why I wanted my husband to be here. Dan McConlogue: That's all right. He has an opportunity. Jonathan Wiggins: How much is Torkelson's? Jonathan Wiggins: The total assessment is 13- 11 ,300. And yours is 12,000. Darline Duffy: Oh, I'm sorry. $300 was wrong. It was closer, but he was hoping that he could do better with the board, so I told him to go ahead. Jonathan Wiggins: Thank You.
