SOUTHOLD TOWN BO;~/) OF APPEALS
January 12, 1965
A meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals was held
at the call of the Chairman on Tuesdaye January 12, 1965, t:00
P.M., at the Town Office, Main Road, Soutbold, New York.
There were present: Messrs: Robert'w. Gillispie, Jr.,
Chairman; Robert Bergen-, Charles Grigonis~ Jr.
Absent: Serge Doyen~ Jr., Fred Hulse, Jr.
Mr. James Olsen appeared before the Bard to discuss his
sign situation concerning his Real-Estate Office in Mattituck.
~e presentlyhas a sign that is higher than the requirements
of the Zoning Ordinance. However, it is not as wide as it
could be according to. the Ordinance. The reason for the
additional height is that the sign is not easily seen when
traveling in an easterly direction. Fir. Olsen"s office is
only 9 feet back from the road, therefore, making it impossible
to move the sign out. The Board advised Mr. Olsen that he
should applyto the Board for a special exception and clearly
state in his application exactly what he wants.
