This application must be filled in by typewriter or ink and submitted to the Building Department with the following:
A. For new building or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or
topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage -disposal (S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains less than 2/10 of 1 % lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate
of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
13. For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and unusual natural or topographic
features.
2. A properly completed application and consent to inspect signed by the applicant. If a Certificate of Occupancy is

proper grading in the driveway to ensure onsite runoff is retained on private property. Restore the County right-of-way. AII work shall
be performed in accordance with this Dept's most recent general, traffic and material specifications and as directed by the County
engineer. Existing drainage structures in the County right-of-way must be covered during construction to prevent debris from entering
the County's system. The applicant and/or their contractor Will be responsible for cleaning any basins in the County right-of-way if
evidence of construction debris is observed. Prior to the start of any work, the stamped permit plan and attached construction detail
and notes must be provided to the applicant's contractor and said contractor must arrange a pre -construction meeting with Ken
Dantzig at 852-4788 a minimum of 48 hrs. prior to start of work. On the south side of CR 48, Middle Rd., 680' east of Carroll Ave. in

on Aug. 15 with a proposed farmstand
and nine -space parking lot on the
North Road in Peconic. But the board
approved only the parking lot and de-
clined to address the farmstand.
The board decided that because Ms.
Cox.was planning to sell only nurs-
ery items in the proposed structure, it
could not be considered a farmstand.
The town code defines a farmstand as
an unenclosed space that sells a vari-
ety of goods, from produce and plant
stock, to dried or fresh foodstuffs.
"The problem is that she is only sell-
ing plants," said Jeri Woodhouse, plan-
ning board chairwoman. "If she is only
selling nursery items, then it should
just be a nursery building."
An enclosed space such as a nursery
building would require a site plan, while
a farmstand would not. The board rec-
ommended that the town building de-
partment address the farmstand issue.
In other news, the board set at Sept.
12 a public hearing on the proposed
8,250 -square -foot agricultural pro-
cessing building and 100 -square -foot
farmstand Catapano Dairy Farms of
Mattituck is proposing for a new loca-
tion on the Main Road in Southold.

INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Building Inspector with 4
sets of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.
