The following action was taken by the Southold Town Board of Trustees at their Regular
Meeting held on Tuesday, July 24, 2007:
RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVE the Amendment to
Permit # 6161 & Coastal Erosion Permit # 6161C to construct a 2.5' x 6' wide railroad
tie wall behind deck post to stabilize soil from running into existing splash pad, and as
depicted on the application prepared by JoAnne Gouveia, received on June 25, 2007.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Dear Ms. Mesiano:
The Board of Town Trustees took the following action during its regular meeting held on
Wed., July 20, 2005 regarding the above matter:
WHEREAS, Catherine Mesiano on behalf of the JOHN & JOANNE GOUVEIA applied
to the South old Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of Chapter 97 of the
Southold Town Code, the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application
dated June 29, 2005 and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the South old Town Conservation Advisory
Council for their findings and recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said
application on July 20, 2005, at which time all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard, and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the
premises in question and the surrounding area, and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,

WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 97 of the
Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the
health. safety and general welfare of the people of the town,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of JOHN & JOANNE
GOUVEIA to construct a 162 sq. ft. addition to the existing single-family dwelling over
the existing deck and a +/-90 sq.ft. deck extension, and all as depicted on the survey
prepared by John T. Metzger last dated July 14, 2005.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date the permit
is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the
date of this notification.
Inspections are required at a fee of $50.00 per inspection. (See attached schedule.)

The proposed action involves the construction of a 162 sq. ft. addition to the existing single
family dwelling over the existing deck and a +/- 90 sq. ft. deck extension. The property is
locat¡:d adjacent to the Long Island Sound and within the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area. The
property is bulkheaded.
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 95, Waterfront Consistency Review of the
Town of South old Town Code and the Local Waterrront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy
Standards. Based upon the infonnation provided on the L WRP Consistency Assessment Fonn
submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation
that the proposed action is generally CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and
therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP provided that the following standard best
management practices are implemented.
I. Employ water quality protection measures for areas generating runoff (gutters,
downspouts and dry wells).
Pursuant to Chapter 95, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing
its written detennination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.

PROPOSED ACTIVITY
Construction of a 162 square foot addition to the existing single family
dwelling and a ~90 square foot deck extension. Please note that the
addition is proposed over the existing deck. The proposed deck
extension will maintain the setbacks of the existing deck. It should be
further noted that the proposed activity is above an existing concrete slab
with walls.

A. INSTRUCTIONS
1. All applicants for perrnits* including Town of Southold agencies, shall complete this CCAF for
proposed actions that are subject to the Town of South old Waterrront Consistency Review Law. This
assessment is intended to supplement other infonnation used by a Town of Southold agency in
making a detennination of consistency. *Except minor exempt actions including Building Permits
and other ministerial permits not located within the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area.
2. Before answering the questions in Section C, the preparer of this fonn should review the exempt
