THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION NO. 169 OF 2001
WAS ADOPTED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD
ON FEBRUARY 13, 2001:
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the To~vn of Southold authorizes and directs Supervisor
Cochran to execute and convey an easement to the Suffolk County Water Authority, a public
benefit corporation, for the use of Town-owned land identified by Suffolk County Tax Map
#1000-102-1-4.14 for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining a well site as
permitted by deed, for the purpose of acquiring and distributing potable water for the Town of
Southold, therefore, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that this conveyance is subject to a permissive referendum as
permitted by law.

TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York at a regular meeting thereof, held on February 13, 2001, duly adopted, subject to a
permissive referendum, a resolution, an abstract of which is as follows:
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby authorizes and directs
Supervisor Jean W. Cochran to execute and convey an easement to the Suffolk County Water
Authority, a public benefit corporation, for the use of Town-owned land identified by Suffolk
County Tax Map #1000-I02-1-4.14 for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining a
well site as permitted by deed, for the purpose of acquiring and distributing potable water for the
Town of Southold; now, therefore, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that this conveyance shall be subject to a permissive referendum as
permitted by law.

RE: RESOLUTION SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM
When a Town Board resolution is subject to a permissive referendum, the
following is required by law:
* Within ten (10) days after adoption of the resolution the Town Clerk shall, in the
same manner as is prescribed for notice of a special election, shall post and
publish a notice which sets for the date of the adoption of the resolution and
contains an abstract of the resolution stating the purpose and effect. Said notice
shall state that such resolution was adopted subject to a permissive referendum.
