HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-06/09/2005 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on June 9, 2005, in a classroom on the second floor of the Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street, Mattituck, New York, with all Commissioners (Jerome Zuhoski, Tom McCaffery and Gerard Goehringer) present, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Madeline Haas, Secretary, Gail Faircloth, Clerk, Edward Grohoski, Maintenance employee, Mr. Williamson, Volunteer worker of the District, Frank Polistina, Volleyball Club representative. Chairman Jerome Zuhoski called the meeting to order at 7: 10 p.m. Frank Polistina was present looking for information about the Volley Ball League. He had heard there was a letter sent to the District and was wondering if there was a problem. Commissioners told him no problem. Frank Polistina then left the meeting. On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the minutes of the May 19, 3005 minutes were approved as presented. On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried the following Treasurer's report for May 19, 2005 meeting was approved and the following bills ordered paid Cash $ 30,783.43 Cash in MBIAlCLASS 415.865.48 Due ttom Capital Fund 17,510.00 Total Assets $ 464,158.91 BILLS ORDERED PAID: MONY $ 1,031.85 AT&T 24.24 C Martin Automotive Ent. Ed Grohoski said he does not have any instruction book for assembling pieces of equipment. Gerry Goehringer reported Kim Prokop could not be at this meeting. She is concerned about the $10,000.00 grant from New York State. She doesn't want to lose it. There is going to be a Volleyball Tournament on August 28; 2005 at the Breakwater Volleyball Court from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mike Ryan said a rain date would be September 4,2005. Mr. Daly, coach of a group of Mattituck and Cutchogue youth want to play baseball. Schedule has to be checked. Gerry Goehringer said it is imperative that the office in the new building get done before the summer gets going in full bloom. M. Williamson said he will pay to have the electric work done in the new building. Gerry Goehringer to give Mr. Williamson a key to the new building so that he can get going on the electric work. Edward Grohoski, Jr. was hired as laborer effective 4/26/03 at a salary of $6.50 per hour. Chris Harrison was hired for a salary of $7.00 per hour. Chris quit on 5/31/05. Philip Neudeck was hired for a salary of$6.50 per hour effective 3/14/05. Commissioners approved a 50 cent raise for Philip Neudeck making his salary $7.00 per hour On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried, the lifeguards will be paid as follows: I" year hourly rate $ 12.17 2nd year hourly rate 12.44 3m year hourly rate 12.72 4th year hourly rate 12.99 5th year hourly rate 13.27 6th year hourly rate 13.54 7th year hourly rate 13.82 8th year hourly rate 14.09 9th year hourly rate 14.37 . There has been a change in the Gate Guards for the beaches. They are: Beatrice Casaula - Hourly wage $6.25 Alison Cooper - Hourly wage $6.25 Lindsey Delerada - Hourly wage $6.50 Denise Goehringer - Hourly wage $9.00 Despina Siolis - Hourly wage $7.50 Mr. Williamson reported that cars have parked on Peconic Bay Boulevard and people walk into the Park without a sticker. A Katie Bums from Lake Ronkonkoma comes every weekend that is nice. A discussion was had by the Commissioners of what to do about the Marlene people and their cars.
