A regular meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals

the Southold Town Office, Main Road, Southol~,. New York.
There were present: Messrs: Robert~W. Gillispie~ Jr.,
Chairman; Robert Bergen, Charles Grigonis~ Jr.
Absent: MessrS: Serge'Doyen~ Jr..~ Fred Hulse, Jr.
PUBLIC HEARING: Appeal HO. 834 - 7:30 P,-Mo~(E~S~T.i~ Upon
application of Anchor Inn, Mill Road, Ma~it~=k~; New York~
for a special exception in accordance with the~ Zoning Ordinance,
Article IVy. Section 408~~ Subsection A,. forp~mission to erect
a directional sign on the property of'Conrad Bullock~ Jro~
Location of property: north east corner of Middle Road and Cox
Neck Road, Mattituck, New Yorka bounded north by'D. Fowler-
Westphalia Road~ east by-Wells-Gilles~ south by'Middle Roadr
George~ west by Cox Neck Road. Fee paid $5.00.

The Chairman opened the hearing by reading an application
for a special exception~ legal notice of'hearing~ affidavit
attesting to its publication in the official ne~spaper~ and
notice to the applicant.
The ~hairman read the letter of permission from Mr.
Conrad Bullock,1Jro~ granting permission to theAnchor Inn
to erect a sign on his property.
THE CHAIRMAN: Is the~e anyone present who wishes to speak
in favor of this application?
Mr. Edward Hallahan was present in favor cf the sign~
however~ he had nothing further to add to the application.
blt. Hallahan explained the design and construction of the
directional sign in question.
THE CHAIRMAN: Is there anyone presentw~o wishes to
speak in opposition to this application?
(There was no response.)
After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the Anchor Inn request permission to place a directional sign
on the property of Conrad Bullock~ .Jr. The Board finds that
Conrad Bullock, Jr. has given w~itten permission to the Anchor
Inn to place a sign on his property. The directional sign in
question will advise of the location of the'Anchor InnRestaurant,
and during the fishing season will also indicate the name of
the party boat that will sail daily. The sign will be 42 inches
high by 36 inches wide. The Board points out that this sign
is in the interest of the traveling public.
The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare
and justice will be served and the legally established or per-
mitted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use districts
will not be permanently or substantially injured and the spirit
of theOrdinance will be observed.
On motion by Mr. Bergen~ seconded by Mr. Grigonis~ it was
RESOLVED that Anchor Inn, Mill Eoad~. Mattituck~ New York~
be granted permission to place a directional sign on the
property of'Conrad Bullock~ Jr.~ located on the north east
cornerof'Middle Road and lo~ N~ Road~ Mattituck~ New York~
subject to the following conditions:

1. This sign shall be erected at least 5 feet from any
propertyline.
2. This sign shall.be erected at least 3 feet from ground
level.
3. This sign shall be subject to all rules and regulations
imposed by a change in the Zoning Ordinance in regard to signs.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Gilli~ie, Mr. Bergen,
Mr. Grigonis.

Island City, New York~ for recognition of access in accordance
with the State of New York Town Law~ Section 280A. Location of
property: private right of'way off the north side of Manhanset
Avenue~ Greenport~ New York, bounded north by Josephine Clavin~
east by~m. R.~ Pell~III, south by~Cassano-I. Rock~ west by
'Peter Dykovitz.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:-Mr. Gillispie~ Mr. Bergen~
Mr. Grigonis.
On motion by Mr. Grigonis, seconded by Mr. Bergen~ it was
RESOLVED that the Southold ToWn Board of'Appeals set7:45 P.Mj

Road~ Southold, New York, as the time and place of hearing upon
application of Thomas Jurzenia, Silvermere Road, Greenport~ New
York, for a variance in accordancewith the zoning'Ordinance,
Article III, Section 307, for permission to reduce the side
yard requirements. Location of property: south side Silvermere
Roa~,. Greenport~ New York~ bounded north bY~'Silvermere Road,
eas~ by Silver Sands Motel~ so~th by-Peconic Bay~-west by
land of Frohne.

for a special exception in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance~
Article III~ Section 300~ Subsection 10~ Article IVy-Section
408, Subsection ~a)~ for permission to erect a directional

for permission to erect'a dwelling on insuffieient area.
Location of property: north side Middle Road~ Mattituck~ New
York~ bounded north by~W.'Ho' Wickham Est.~ eastby John Jacobs~
south by MiddleRoad, west'by Church - Jacobs.

of Appeals dated March 24, 1966 be approved as submitted.
