Please respond to the attached letter of Gerard A. Neumann, Esq. concerning
property on Mattituck Creek that is owned by his family.

4. The Town's "cluster housinG" policy has led to out-of-
character development on East Mill Road and Grand Avenue. The
homes built there, while well maintained, are in marked
contrast to other homes in the area. We received no notice
regarding this development.
Our property, which you seek to preserve, has been
surrounded by town-approved expansions that have had just the
opposite effect. It appears that the only way to offset our
loss is to apply for rezoning to commercial use. We hereby
demand notice of any additional applications for expansion of
the marina or any other neighboring businesses and properties.
We welcome your comments and evaluation.

Re: Permit No. 10-85-0893
Maintenance Dredging
Dear Mr. Boacola:
The above referenced permit was issued by this Department on
2/11/86 based on information submitted by En-Consultants. An appli-
cation submittal by En-Consultants on 7/13/88 proposes an expansion to
the marina on the above referenced site.
A field inspection was conducted on 8/25/88. At this time the
Department determined that actual field conditions were substantially
different than what was shown on the originally submitted plans (En-
Consultants revised 9/9/85). A review of those plans and recently sub-
micted surveys reveals the following:
(i)
Plan by Eh-Consultants 9,/9/85 (latest revision) indicates
dredge area to be 1600 feet in length extending south from
the northern property line. However, in comparison to the
Young and Young survey of 5/16/85 which shows that the
permittee's property extends only 1150 feet south from the
northerly property line.
(2)
Plan by Eh-Consultants 9/9/85 (latest revision) shows the
entire length to be dredged as marina water area but does
not indicate an intertidal marsh and high marsh area which
begins 900 feet south of the northern property line.
(3)
Survey of Young and Young dated 11/4/87 shows docks a
maximum length of 160 feet (southern most dock), whereas
plan by En-Consultants of 9/9/85 shows dock length of 210
feet; all other docks on En-Consultants plan vary from 45
feet to 105 feet greater in length than Young and Young
survey.
