AN ACT
in relaUon to establishing Sound avenue, a soenio and historic
corridor in Suffolk county, in honor and celebrMion of the
American bicentennial and the role of Long Island in the Amer-
iean Revolut'mn
The People of the ,.~tate of New York, ~epresent~d in Senate a~td
Assembly, do enact as .follows:
1 Section 1. Sound avenue from its junction with State Route
2 twenty-five-A in the town of Riverhead to its junction with County
3 Road twenly-scven in the town of Seuthold, county of Suffolk is
4 declared to be a scenic and historic route in Snffolk county, and its
5 historic, scenic, and cultural resources, and 'its natural beauty shall
6 be pre~rved and protected for the benefit and enjoyment of the
7 people of the state.

t~ county ~f Suffolk in h~mor of the bicentennial of the American

~ ~;. No appropriation is made since the res~msibility of im-
plementation and funding is that of the pa~icular mnnicipal b~ies
i~vol~'~l which may, in addit i~m, accept private contributions toward
~he cost of particular projects hlitia,ted ~d carried ont under this
~ 7. Sep~ability If any provision of this sot or the application
thereof to any p*.rson or eiveumstan~s is held invalid, such in-
valhlily shall n~ a?fect other provisions or applkmtions of this act
wh~h can be given t:ffeel without lhe invalM provision or applica-
tion, and to ~hi~ end ~he provisions td this ~t are se~mrabl~.
~ 8. This act shall lake effect on the first day of June nexl
sueee~'ding the date on which it sha~l have b~ome a law.
