Jacobs Re: Crowley Estates - Major subdivision at Southold - Preliminary Man dated October 1984 Comments: The property is open throughout except for some minor brush growth and small trees along the west side. Contours shown appear to be more or less correct from visual inspection. Run-off would be concentrated at a low area (contour 10) at the west end of lots no. 3 and no. 4. Contour 10 is also into the adjacent subdivision. Lot No. 5 in that subdivision is owned by the Town of Southold and was probably acquired for drainage purposes. Containment of drainage runoff should be considered. When houses are built, landscape work, etc . done, runoff will be accelerated. Apparently the only area where runoff would enter other property would be at the low area as shown by the 10 contour. Would suggest installation of a Type B recharge basin within the 10 con- tour area of this subdivision. Dimensions, etc. to be determined by appropriate rainfall and runoff factors. A test hole to determine the ground water elevation should be made. Comparison of road elevations and existing surfaces (via contours) at North Bayview Road and Jacobs Lane indicate the roads in most cases aro lower. The tendenry in grading lors aid dr;Po7 rc ;e. ncn7ly toward roads and streets . Storm water runoff from developments must be confined to the site unless adequate facilities exist . Rainfall runoff onto roads, streets or private property is prohibited. 00, Raymond L acobs Superin dent of Hi;-hways cc : Highway Committee L. PT. Tuthill, P.E.
