Therefore, in accordance with the current Tidal Wetlands Code (Chapter 97) and the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area (Chapter 37) no permit is required. Please be advised, however, that no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place seaward of the tidal wetlands jurisdictional boundary or seaward of the coastal erosion hazard area as indicated above, without a permit. It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction and Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result from your project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work area between the tidal wetland jurisdictional boundary and the coastal erosion hazard area and your project or erecting a temporary fence, barrier, or hay bale berm. However, any activity within 100' of a Wetland line or seaward of the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area would require permits'{:rom this office. Kmpski President, Board of Town Trustees Town of Southhold Town Hall 53095 Main Street Southhold, New York 11971 May 8, 2000 Dear Al: Re: Ramp and Float 70 Strohson Road Cutchogue, NY Per our discussion, DEC has requested that I modify my boat ramp so that the outer edge of the float extends 10' further from the shoreline. This is to request that the Trustees amend my original permit to permit this to be done. Although I know there was a reasonable question at the time of the original hearings about whether the length of the dock might impact the boat launch at the end of Little Neck Road, I think you will agree this proved not be an issue once the float was put in place For this reason, because this new location still keeps the float hugging close to the shoreline, I believe there will not be any additional impact. In this context, it should be noted that although the Trustees authorized a 20' float, in actuality I installed only a much smaller 16' float, thus minimizing any impact even further. I would proposed to keep this smaller size in the new location and indeed, would be agreeable, if you believed it to be important, to reduce the float even further by a foot or two. ; · As requested, Steve Pawlett has staked out the new location for your inspection. · Please call if you have any questions. Thank you for your help and cooperation in this matter. Sincerely yours, Charles A Rodin US Army Corps of Engineers New York District Jacob K.
