Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the
Mattituck Park District held on April 14, 2005, in a classroom on the second floor of the
Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street, Mattituck, New York, with Commissioners Tom
McCaffery and Gerard Goehringer present together with John Cushman, Treasurer,
Madeline Haas, Secretary, Gail Faircloth, Clerk, and Edward Grohoski, Maintenance
employee. Absent Chairman, Jerome Zuhoski.
Gerard Goehringer called the meeting to order.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the
Secretary's minutes of the March 10,2005 meeting were approved as presented.
Gerard Goehringer reported the beach plan was received from Jim Cox for the
Suffolk County Health Services.
Gerard Goehringer thanked Edward Grohoski for all his hard work getting so
many things done since he was hired.
Gerard Goehringer reported that the ceiling would have been done at the new
building at Veterans Park but he decided to put six (6) high hat lights in the building and
installed big windows purchased from Penny Lumber at a good priced.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried,
Edward Grohoski, Jr. has been hired as a laborer to commence on June 1,2005.
Edward Grohoski reported purchasing a 6-foot ladder from Cutchogue Hardware
for $89.39.
Gerard Goehringer asked Secretary Madeline Haas to contact Barbara Droskoski
to attend the May meeting to go over things needed and things to be done regarding the
life guards at Breakwater beach and Veterans beach for 2005 summer season.
Gail Faircloth reported that Angela DiVello, Despina Siolis, Lindsey Delarata and
Denise Goehringer were coming back as gate attendants at Veterans Memorial Park and
Breakwater Beach for the 2005 summer season. Gail said she still needs one more girl.
The girls will start Memorial Day weekend with hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tom McCaffery volunteered to help Edward Grohoski with putting the ropes out
at the Breakwater Beach.
Edward Grohoski reported the truck broke down on the south side and had to be
towed home.
Verizon and Hawkeye took the poles down at Aldrich Lane. Gerry Groehringer
called and asked some soccer people to help. Gerry ordered 2 dumpsters to get rid of the
old logs.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the
following Treasurer's report for March 10,2005 meeting was approved and the following
bills ordered paid:

Doug Cooper finished cleaning the Breakwater beach. Two dumpsters were used
to clean up the debris.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, a
porta potty is to be put at the ball field on Bay Avenue.
Gerry Goehringer spoke to Greg Dickerson and Sam Bail about mowing for the
Park District.
There was a discussion by the Commissioners about lawn mowers. Edward
Grohoski was told to take the John Deere to Chris Doroski to service it and Edward to get
prices on replacing the deck to see if that machine can be used. Another mower is much
needed.
It was reported that Bob Bohn has not fixed the fence at Veterans Park site.
Edward Grohoski will keep calling him to get the job done.
Edward Grohoski reported there are people who bring their dogs and other
domestic animals to run on the beach. He has checked the Town Lease Law. The Park
District has the ability to place rules and regulations regarding the animals being on Park
property.
On motion of Gerard Goehinger, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, there
are to be no animals and horses in the Park. Signs saying: "No domestic animals or
horses allowed on Park District property. Maximum penalty $250.00 per animal.
Violators will be prosecuted.
One ofthe lights is out at the Lodge. Edward Grohoski to get a new one.
Mark from Burt's Reliable said that the water is going down the chimney at the
Lodge and is causing a problem. The chimney should be capped.
Billy Carroll cleaned some brush out from around the building at Aldrich Lane.
He also will be having some fill that he can put down at Aldrich Lane site.
Betty Tyler has keys for the boat ramp and the yellow stickers. .
The Commissioners said the gate is to be put up at the Lodge as you turn into the
Lodge and lock it.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, to
have Sound Shore Irrigation System service the Aldrich Lane and Yacht Club irrigation.
