Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on May 19, 2005, in a classroom on the second floor of the Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street, Mattituck, New York, with all Commissioners (Jerome Zuhoski, Tom McCaffery, and Gerard Goehringer) present together with Madeline Haas, Secretary, Gail Faircloth, Clerk, and Edward Grohoski, Maintenance employee. Absent: John Cushman, Treasurer. Also present were Gail Wickham, Park District Attorney, Greg Johnson and Jim Olsen, Boy Scout representatives, and Susan Droskoski, Life Guard Supervisor. Jerome Zuhoski opened the meeting at 7:10 p.m. On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the minutes of the April 14, 2005 meeting were approved as presented. On motion of Tom McCaffery, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried the following Treasurer's report for April 14, 2005 meeting was approved and the following bills ordered paid: Cash $ 334,78 Cash in MBIAlCLASS 414,879.17 Due from Capital Fund 1751000 Total Assets $ 432,723.95 BILLS ORDERED PAID: Mony $ 1,031.86 Edward R. The leaders are concerned about the restriction as they have camping equipment and other articles stored elsewhere and they cannot get to them. Mr. Goehringer spoke to the men about what has happened. The District had to do something about the situation of people who are not scouts walking into the Lodge and wandering around. Mr. Johnson said that he is dealing with boys 7-18 and the boys clean up after their camping exhibitions. They can't put things away because the men do not have keys to unlock anything. However, he said that the boys had cleaned the beach last week. A discussion of what could be done followed and the Commissioners agreed to give out three keys to Mr. Johnson to give to the leaders who need them. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Olsen were instructed not to have more keys made. Mr. Goehringer said that a table in the confereance room had been donated to the District and was broken. Mr. Olsen said he would have fixed it but he didn't know who to get in touch with about what to do about fixing it. The men were asked if they use the building more than Gail Faircloth has application for use. They admitted they did and they are to get in touch with Gail to let her know of everyting that isn't on her schedule. They thanked the Commissioners and left the meeting. Ms. Droskoski spoke about her life guards and the Health Department Permit. Mr. Goehringer said he had done it and was going to meet with the man in the Health Dept. to go over some of the things that were questioned. Ms. Droskoski also asked about the ropes in the water. SVv'imming lessons given by Southold Town were going to be the end of June-and beginning of July. She was going to check to see how the umbrella situation was and first aid boxes available. Before she left 1 apologized to Ms. Droskoski about not notifYing her the meeting had been changed from May 12th, 2005 to this date. Commissioners asked Gail Faircloth about her gate guard girls. She has Denise Goehringer, Despina Siolis, Lindsey Delarata, Alison Cooper and Beatrice Casaula lined up. Tom McCaffery reported he had me with Musco respresentative and Josh Horton about the lights at the Aldrich Lane site. He also approached the North Fork Soccer League. Musco is to look at the property to see just what could be done. Gail Wickham is to get in touch with the Mattituck School's attorney and get permission of the school board to see if they have a particular kind oflighting in mind. Gail asked about the lifetime use for the lights that are being considered. She was told 20-25 years. Gail Wickham to check with the Town of Southold, Mattituck School and Dan Ross looking for criteria of the lights. . - Kim Prokop came into the meeting just to see how things were going with the playground. It was reported that the new building at Veterans Park has to be painted inside and chair rail put up using pine that was left over from the building. Billy Carroll is to be asked for an invoice for the work that be did at the Aldrich Lane site. The dog situation at all the Park sites was brought up again and there are to be signs put up about no dogs, horses or domestic pets allowed on beaches or any sites of the park district. A warning will be given for the first abuse but a fine of$250.00 will be levied the next time. No further business to come before the meeting on motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the meeting was adjourned. The Commissioners then went into Executive Session.
