House and large barn close to east End Rd. , mix of open and wooded, shrubbed land. 18, OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND 'SITE. (including interior features if known): House - 212 story, 6 bay, 2-family, gable roof house. Porch with turned posts and curved spandrel brackets. Prominent facade gable over 4 center bays. 2/2 windows, paired in gable peaks. Barn - Large, 22 story, 'T' shaped barn. Gable end to the street has square cupola with pyramidal roof. 6/6 window in gable peak, SIGNIFICANCE — see below # 20 — Irt. DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION:__191 (°r between 1897 & 1909)* ARCHITECT: BUILDER: Fishers Island Farms _o. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: This huge barn was built by Fishers Island Farms to house a large dairy berd. In recent years it was a boys camp known as Camp Tabor. While this building was repoertedly built in 1915, the 1909 map of Fishers Island indicates that Wilderness Farm was here prior to 1909. However, it does not appear on the 1897 map. 18 - continued - and 2/2 windows elsewhere. Large stone block foundation and ramp that leads to barn door on east facade with 13-paned tran- som.
