private residential area on Barleyfield cove, One other residence
in the immediate vicinity (FI-16) . Mix of open and wooded land,
small marsh area to the north. Barleyfield Cove to the south.

Long, rambling, 1%2 story, L-shaped, shingle house that is com-
prised of a large number od gambrel roofed units. Subsumed porch
on south facade. Shed roof dormers with bands of windows. 6/6
windows. Solid wood shutters with "Z" motif cut-out.

0. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
" This free interpretation and variation of the Dutch Colonial
motif has produced a large house with a country-house at-
mosphere.
The house was built by Mortimer Big. rckner, the first
president of the Fishers island Corporation,as a
replica of "Greg Gulls," the house he had built on
the site of the old brickworks. (Fee Form FI 42) . "
