Located in a low density, residential area. Open land with
woodland to the south. Elevated site overlooking Hay Harbor
to the north. One of the largest houses in the area.

Large, 22 story, multi-bay, multi-gabled, hip roof, Shingle Style
house with stone chimneys and stone foundation. Main entrance
door with diamond paned sidelights and hip roof entrance porch
with large console brackets. Semi-octagonal wing at second
story of SW end with console brackets and tapered, square posts

BUILDER:
10. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
i4tile this house is reported to have been designed by the same
architects as the Linderman/Wilmerding House (WE-7) , it is
very different. The only similarity is its shingle cladding
with local stone foundation and chimneys, and the diamond paned
sash.
When built, it was one of the two largest houses on Fishers
Island.
This handsome, well preserved hoi ,e is an important structure both
historically and architecturally.

that wrap the SW corner and extend into a porch that fronts the N
side of the house. Small console brackets under projecting second
story. Windows: diamond paned casements, diamond paned upper
sash/2, 12/3 on dormers, and a grouping of 3 round-topped stair
windows with curved muntins. Curved window bay at ground story
under porch is 25/1, with curved glass panes. The interior is
marvellous.
