House is approached on a winding drive, up an incline. I& OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known): Large, irregularly shaped, Shingle Style house with enveloping gambrel roof sweeping down to first floor level. High stone foundation. Tall stone chimney at gambrel angle, exposed on ground story. Pergola porch with tapered columns, dentils, and Palladian window on NE facade, with curved window band at corner. SIGNIFICANCE — see attachment — 19. DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: Early 20th century ARCHITECT: Perhaps H. Fdward Ficken. BUILDER: 20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL. IMPORTANCE: This fine example of the Shingle Stlye is one of several large houses of this type that were built around the turn of the century on Fishers Island.
