Located in a medium density, residential area within the old
WE-3a confines of Fort H.G. Wright. Residences, former Officer's
(WE_3b) Quarters and Club, line the north side of this road. Open
land to S surrounding the building.
18. OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known):
Large, 22 story, rectangular, gable roof building, gable end to the
street. Lobby area separated from auditorium by parapet wall that
rises above the roof. Main entrance marquee hood supported by
two chains with iron anchors at the second story, flanked by
2 arched doorways. Gable peak marked with full cornice return,

20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL INIPORIANCE:
This .historic brick building recalls the period when this fort
was important in the U S coastal defense. system. It is one
of the many remaining Fort H.G.. Wright buildings on Fishers
Island's west end, and was an important asset to the military
community.
