Flat roof garage wing on west, as shown on 1949 photo- graph. Gable ends with stone coping above roof line. 6/6 windows with stone sills. SIGNIFICANCE 14). DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: 1889* (probably 1898) ARCHITECT: BUILDER: 0, HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: This building retains its original function. It is an im- portant component of the historic Fort Terry complex, reflecting coastal defense history of the U.S. It is also one of the earliest buildings to survive from the initial development of this military compound during the last few years of the 19th century.
