Gable roof dormers with paired windows. Brick end chimneys and center chimeny. 616 windows with round arch brick lintels and stone sills. Double leaf front door on main facade. Cornice with returns. SIGNIFICANCE 11). DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: 1907 ARCHITECT: BUILDER: 'tl. IIISrORICAL. AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: This building can be seen on the 1909 photo in Long Island Today, 1909. It is part of the Fort Terry compound located near the center of Plum Island. As part of this historic, intact group of pre--WW1 military buildings, this is a sig- nificant building that represents U.S. coastal defense his- tory and American military architecture. �1.
