Located in a low density, agricultural , residential
area. Marshland to the east/southeast , open land to
north and west , Gardiners Bay to the south. The ear-
liest and largest residence in a cluster of houses here.

Targe 21-story, 3 bay, center chimney, center entrance ,
gable roof house . li-story, gable roof wing on east with
wide facade gable . Gables have Queen Anne variegated
shingles . Serpi-octagonal bay window on east . Federal-
style entrance surround with corner blocks. 12/12 windows.

_10. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
This house was not only indicated on the 1838 map but
was identified by name , B. Tuthill, which would indi-
cate that it was a significant property. Tt was B.H.
Tfithill in 1909 .
This historic house and its barn contribute to the
ambience of this historic community.
The Hog Pond and the Old Slave Cemetery are no longer
part of this property. (See Form OR 71) .
