the south.

Steeply pitched pyramidal dormer with paired windows
on main facade . Blubber spade motif trim and sawn
brackets under the eaves . Main door with sidelights.
Remarkable square 3-story tower jetties from rear of
SIGAk'ACtcture .

It may be that this was originally a stick-style house .
It retains enough of its original character to be a
welcome addition to this historic community.
The house was reportedly Reeves before Mitchell.

RECENT SUCCESSFUL. HOUSE MOVINGS
Within the past few months four
Long Island landmarks have been
preserved for posterity by reloca-
tion—three moved by land acid one . .-�-ate.•.. ► "�
moved by sea. The first to go was
the Purl►le house from Main Street `
in East Hampton—Main Street's
loss. The next was the Norton-
Iveson house from Main Street in
Yaphank, which literally was f�I� ,, '•
` snatched from thi• bunting" by Mitchell house in transit Suffolk Times,
Mr. and Mrs. Vitt) Mannino. About 12/6/73
the same titne lie former Jennings /louse traveled down Montauk
Highway to Hoye hill Road in Water Mill. And in Dercn►ber the Mitchell
lcouse was water-boriw, reniovecl hr' h:irr► from Iia% Avemue, Greenport, to
Orient--Greenpo rt's luso.
