DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: Prior to 1822 (some say 1745, 1794_)._ ARCHITECT: BUILDER_ 20, HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: This is one of the three Terry houses that are shown on the 1838 map. OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known): The building was initially a two-family house with two summer kitchens, each with its brick oven, and one larSp central fireplace with openings to the east and west. The west end is the oldest part, with hand-hewn beams and mortise and tenon construction on second floor. Original stairs to second floor, much used, have been preserved and are now used as cellar stairs. Irving Latham's grandfather was George Terry, whose daughter Agnes was Irving's mother. Window sashes are 4 over 4. During remodeling, insulation of bricks and seaweed was discovered. 21.
