2z story, 3 bay, side entrance plan, "L" shaped, Italianate
house, gable end to the street. IZ story, gable roof wing on
west. Flat roof wing on NE. Paired brackets under eaves of
main house and wing. Rounded windows in gable peaks. 2/2 win-
dows. Porch with squared posts across main house and wing.

20HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
This house was built by Orville terry's grandfather, who was
' also an Orville Terry. Since Orville terry's recent death,
Mrs. 'Terry has sold the development rights to their 38.5
acres to the Town of Southold (which include frontage on
Long Island Sound) . The property, exclusive of the house and
four acres, will go to the Peconic Land Trust.
