1%2 story, 5 bay, center chimney, gable roof house with 2 steep
gabled wall faced dormers on main (south) facade.
SIGNIFICANCE
111. DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: Prior to 1840

_OE IIISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCF:
The house appears on the 1838 map, and was probably owned by
Conklin in 1858 and 1873, and by Arthur Latham in 1909. The
Oysterponds historical Society research states the owner as
wmea m duvall in 1974, and gives the building the name of
Douglass.
This was one of the typical 1-2 story, 5 bay "Cape Cod Style"
houses that still characterize Main Rd. in Orient.
