Main Rd. - the 2 lane State Rte. 25 - was the historic
Kings Hwy. This road in Last Marion might well be called
an historic district because it is lined with old houses .
IH. OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior Features if known):
Small 1+ story, "Stick style" structure , gable end to the
street. :Steep gable roof with small brackets under over-
hanging eaves and a shed roof dormer. Side entrance on
front facade under 1 story shed roof extension. Clipped
shingles in upper gable peak supported on heavy console

20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
,, This interesting chapel is an exceptionally fine Stick
Style structure . It acids greatly to the ambience of the
historic Fast Marion streetscape.
to 1886 the R. Marion Reform Association deeded their
Temperance Hall and land to the East Marion Baptist Church.
In Sept. 1886 it was decided to build a Hall on "the same
lot upon which the Temperance Hall now stands." The old
building was sold at auction on Oct . 2, 1886 and moved to
the east of the old site . The new building was ready on
May 4, 1887 . It was decided to call the new building:

gable adjacent to front entrance also with " stick
work" , a trefoil of sunbursts , and the date AD 1886 .
