story, 2 bay, flat roof wing on east . Paired heavy scrolled
brackets support overhang of entire house. Porch across the
front with single scrolled brackets , square champfered posts ,
and triangular sawn spandrels . Double leaf rounded front

10. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
The house was owned by Capt. H. Vail in 1873 and 1909 .
This fine example of a mid-19th century flat-roof house
is a valuable component of this historic streetscape .
It should be noted that a number of these very interest-
ing flat,-roof houses survive here on the North Pork.
