to Cleaves Pt. midway between Orient and Greenport Har-
bors . Across from a large open field , it is part of a res-
idential row of later date and similiar scale .

lZ story, 4 bay, side entrance plan gable roof house.
Salt box profile on north elevation. High roof plate
and 4 frieze windows under the eave of main facade .
Large wing on rear of a later date is a seperate res-
idence .

'10. HISI'ORIC.AL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
Owned by Bryants after WW II, the house was bought from
Wayland Caulkins whose family owned the house back to
at least 1897. The date of construction may be prior to
1838 .
This house contributes to the historic ambience of the
area.
