20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
These milestones were placed at one mile intervals to
indicate the distance to the County Courthouse in
Riverhead . That so many survive on the North Fork is
remarkable .
They were restored by Archibald Young, age 77, prior
to 1966,
