A large, low-lying shorefront property, in a low density
residential area at the end of 9th Street, Small dredged
inlet on the west has boat house that was originally part
of a Coast Guard facility.

The Templetons came from Chicago. They arrived each
summer with maids and cook. They sold to Wynkoop who ,
inturn, sold to Royal Toner in 1933.

'U. HISTORICAL AND ARCIIITLCTURAL IX10 While there was a house in
this area on the 1838 map, it is not known whether or not
that building may have been incorporated in the present resi-
dence. It was Brown on the 1873 map, Templeton in 1909 , and
H.H.P.Wynkoop on the 1934 Sanborn map. Royal Toner, an Oyster
King, owned until 1965 . Mr. Toner moved the boat house from
the Rocky Point Coast Guard Station. The Toners have their
winter home in Garden City.
