In heavily wooded area out of sight from the road. The
dirt path that leads to the house was called Marshall
Lane.

11-story irregular craftsman-style cottage. Gable roof
with exposed rafter ends sweeps out over east fagade
with hip roof balconied dormer. 2/2 windows and original
paneled front door with plate glass panel,
2nd floor on south juts out over lst floor.

On 1909 map this cottage belonged to Dr. Jose Marshall,
The property to the east was a golf course laid out
reportedly by Dr. Marshall whose mansion stood on the
Sound bluffs next east of Cahoon (see photo page 111 of
R. C. Newell Rose Remembers for photo of Marshall house. )
Marshall was apparently the first estate here for his
place appears on the 1897 map.
