OTHER NOTABLL FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known): Small 1-story, 3-bay ,center entrance house with very high hip roof surmounted by small gable and chimney. Brick pilasters each side of door. Brick chimney rises from center. SIGNIFICANCE 11). DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: Prior to 1929 ARCHITECT: BUILDER: 'Q. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL INIPORTANCL: This was one of the cottages that were built by Dr. Beixedon for guests at the Arshamomaque Inn. The cottages were well designed, architect unknown, and no two were alike . There were twelve located around the inn, which stood east of the two stucco cottages, and there were five across the creek, reached by a bridge . 21. In taking a short cut to get around yards and yards of red tape,Mr.DeBeix- edon built his bridge and dug his canal under it later, so when Government men, who happened to stumble on his enterprise, asked him why he failed to get a permit to build a bridge over navigable waters, he replied: "I didn't know it was necessary to get a permit to build a b-idge over dry land."- i
