Towns Creek Lane is a private lane leading to three homes,
all on large picturesque grounds.

3 small windows under the eaves. 1-story, 2-bay wing
on west. Off-center interior chimney. 6/6 windows.

School, she taught in Riverhead Elementary School until her
marriage. (Married women teachers were not allowed to re-
main. ) After teaching a year in Peconic and two years in
Orient during World War II, and ten autumns at the Cutchogue
Labor Camp (a rewarding experience), Helen taught thirteen
years in the Southold Elementary School. Since retirement in
1974, Helen has concentrated on her interests in genealogy
and history.

Henry was employed by the Long Island Fertilizer Company
in Southold, then as custodian and head custodian at the
Southold Schools where he was a great favorite with the chil-

#241. bliss Kathryn T. Salmon House, Southold. (b. 1901) �
This lovely house at the head of Town Creek was for 10 years called "The Little
House at Creekside." Henry G. Salmon, Kay's father, purchased the house ca. 1920
for a summer home. It wasn't until about 1953 that they lived there year round.
Kay sold it a few years ago and moved to New Hampshire.
#245. Frederic C. and Helen W. Prince House, Southold. (he b. 1908)
This ranch type house on the corner of Landon Lane and Founders Path was built in
1952, with an on-schedule "five year plan" to add a two car garage with a patio at
the back. Alfred Baker and Edwin Fickeissen, builders. The hurrying figure in
the picture is Helen, a self-photo.
#247. HenryW, and Mary E. Prince House, Southold. (he b. 1915)
Henry and Mary built this comfortable little early style house in 1949. It sits
on the Traveler St, end of his grandfather's property, conveniently near the
village but away from the traffic and noise.
