Mechanics Street was a "two pole way" laid out by Joseph
H. Goldsmith and called Prince Lane. The first house
there was built in 185.

Large 2-story gable roof building, gable end to the street
with 6/6 windows barn door in center with loft door above .
and board-and-batten.
Later wide angle gable roof structure is attached to the
north side. This also has 6/6 windows.

Wheel Shop in 1873 map.
A rare survivor of a mid-19th century industrial building.
A "wheel shop" would indicate that wagons and/or carriages
were made and repaired here. It iw called a "wheelright
shop" by H.W. Prince (p. 18) .
