Located on Great Hog Neck, it traverses fine farmland. In 1838 it was lined with farmhouses all the way to Cedar Beach Point. Today it is an area of scattered houses, open fields and woods. ltd. OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including intzrior features if known): Small lz-stony, 3-bay side entrance plan gable roof house with small window under the eaves. Lean-to extension on rear creates saltbox profile -on east side of house. 1-story, gable roof wing on west rear. 6/6 windows. Off-center chimney. SIGNIFICANCE 14t. DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: Prior to 1_58 ARCHITECT: BUILDER: 20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: Was Wells house in 1858 and 1873. Brown in 1909. This charming little old house is a well preserved example of a house-type that was widespread on the North Fork in 18th and early 19th centuries. It's integrity is excellent. 'I. SOURCES: Chace.
