HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: A house is shown on this site next door to the "Methodist Church" on the 1838 U.S . Coast Survey. In 1873 and in 1909 it is identified as Stelzer. This is a type of house called locally a "basement house" . It contributes to the ambience of the streetscape. 21.
