In medium density area in center of historic Southold.
The Main Road, once the King's Highway, is lined with trees
and many interesting old structures surrounded by lawns and
greenery.

Old 2-story flat-roof commercial building with semi-elliptical
bay window over old store-front .
A well preserved second store-front faces Beckwith Avenue
at the rear of the building.

10. IIISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
Was Gomez Grocery in 1909.
A very fine old commercial building which retains its ori-
ginal store front. It contributes greatly to the ambience
of the area. The two story building at the rear of this
complex was the H.M. Hawkins building. The Southold Free
Library moved to that building in 1912.
There was a smaller building here in 1873 owned by
G. Hahn.
