SIGNIFICANCE 19DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: 1896 ARCHITECT: Skidmore (Riverhead) BUILDER: Joshua. Beebe (Foreman) HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: One of the very first summer houses to be built in the area, and one of the few large turn-of-the-century summer homes to survive. The house is described by Craven as the "beauti- ful summer home of Stewart Hull Moore. " The house contains some stainod glass windows, composed of six panels representing one large quawk, executed by the Tiffany studios. * A carved stone on lawn says "Quawksnest" -"1896" .
