The Presbyterian Church is on the Main Road facing the
parsonage and the old Cutchogue Village Green. It forms
a cluster with many old historic buildings which are a
vital. part of the small town' s past.

121-story, gable roofs Greek Revival-style church, 6 bays
deep, on high brick foundation. Eastlake- style steeple
(60 feet high) and entrance porticob�yjerh rea door on

SIGNIFICANCE
I1). DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION:-Chi irrh founded in 173 present
church completed in 1852. Steeple

'0. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
The original (1732) church was a meetinghouse of the
broadhouse type, without steeple. Only the cornerstone
of this building, marked 1732, remains.
It was used during the Revolutionary War as a stable
by the British. Trials for moral charges and property
disputes were frequently held in this church in the
18th and 19th centuries. * In general, the church has
always had a pivotal role in the life and thinking of
the town.
