The restaurant faces the harbor and its docks. Even though
the area in which it is located has lost many of its
buildings , the area is active with strong evidence of work
connected with the harbor and other manual activity.

There are boats docked on shore as well as in the water.
It is a uniquely beautiful setting which needs careful
planning for the future.
The Galley-ho Restaurant fits loosely into a cluster
with the Post Office and "Houston's barn" .

The Galley--Ho Restaurant is an important feature of the
New Suffolk waterfront, in terms of its social function,
since it is a popular gathering place and because its
architectural character blends into the local atmosphere.
