SIGNIFICANCE: Kimogenor Point is one of the very picturesque points of the North Fork area and one of the many exclusive private enclaves to be found in this country. In 1900 Stuart H. Moore and Beverly S. King purchased the sandy east side of the mouth of gest Creek. In 1904 they star- ted to build 11 bungalows and a clubhouse . A sales brochure described it as "a group of artistic and comfortable bungalows. . . that cost $ 1200, - to $ 1800. - to build. " The name Kimogenor was formed by scrambling the letters in Moore and King; King was an architect and Moore a builder. In 1920 the Moore family sold their holdings to a group who had been renting for a number of years. (Cont. ) 5. MAP: N.Y.S . Significance Five of the bungalows remain in the hands of the families of the original buyers. All the houses have been slightly altered over the years, but the exteriors and the general layout remain basically the same as when built.
