Part of a cluster of four homes and a barn which belong
to the 0 . Davis Estate and are facing the bay - They are
now the property of Mrs. Whelan. It lies at the foot of
the oldest road in New Suffolk, a quiet, little traveled
lane.

The house has been extensively renovated.
Brick gate posts , white wooden gate with wrought iron
strap hinges and pintles •are all that remains unaltered
from the original estate.

20. HIS'TORIC'AL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
The 0. Davis Estate was one of the many developed during
the gilded era which lasted up to the beginning of the
XXth century, when people of wealth came from New York
and elsewhere to build large homes and mansions around
New Suffolk.
