Originally it in- cluded also a coach house, a caretaker's house, quarters for the servants, a stable, some barnes as well as a large shingled house. 18. OTHER NO'I ABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known): Shingle Style barn on brick foundation. 12 story gambrel roof with slight flare at eaves and ornamental shingle course at roof edge of gable. 12 story gable roof wing on north has portico with square shingled supports on brick foundations. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: The Hathaway family, which came from Germantown. Penn- sylvania in 1896, owned the estate. Dr. Given's house is on the site of the Hathaway house.
