In the back the lot forms a concavity) it is large and pleasantly laid out, partly as a garden, forming a cluster with the barn and other buildings in the background. 18. OTHER NOTABLE. FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known): 12 story, side entrance plan, clapboard house, 22 stories on the rear. Semi-wrap around porch w. octagonal columns. Paired round-topped windows in gable with unique round- topped muntins in each. Small windows under the eaves on north and south elevations with semi-elliptical window heads. SIGNIFICANCE (cont. ) 11t. DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION: 1858 ARCHITECT: BUILDER: 10. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE. This house was built for Horton's bride. Mrs. Horton was the daughter of Ira Brewster Tuthill who not only laid out the plan for the village of New Suffolk, but also owned Robins Island and its brick works. All details are original and have not been altered. This house was listed in "Summer of History" , Map 1, #32. This house was researched by E1. Plimpton, 19 4. 'I.
