This house is the first to be approached upon arrival on
the island and dominates its natural surroundings. The
knoll in front of this building was the site of the ex-
clusive Robins Island Club, founded in 1881.

A sprawling, 12 story, irregular gable roof residence
with shed roof dormers, 6/6 windows and glass-enclosed
porch.

0. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
The building was the residence of John Mackay, the owner
of Robins Island between 1958 and 1979. It is called the
"Clubhouse" on Mackay's map.

South east of main residence is a barn which
housed Mr. Mackay's two Ken KW generators.
The barn was called the Ice House and was
used for the storage of game.
Features of barn: Tall gable roof building
with window in gable. Brick foundation,
Walls approx. 1 ft. thick, covered on in-
side with wide boards. Exterior of door
covered with diagonally placed board and
batten.
