It is approximately three feet tall and four inches wide of white stone. The letters and numbers are cut into the stone. SIGNIFICANCE Int. DATE OF INITIAL CONSTRUCTION. 18th century ARCHITECT: BUILDER: 20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITFC'TURAL IMPORTANCE: One of the many mile markers left in the area. These markers ' were at one time placed at every mile mark along the Kings Highway. `there were 23 milestones between Laurel and Orient - Today three are missing. 21.
