Main Road (RT. 25) is a two-lane low density, tree lined state
road.

Handsome, long, low,brick, stone and stucco, English style
church with rough slate roof. Low square tower at N/E corner.

Rich natural endowments combined with a pro-
gressive community spirit has won for Mattituck W

a prominent place among the leading vacation

spots along the Island's north fork. A short walk
from any part of its residential sections will lead
one to a nearby beach. In many places public roads
skirt the borders of its numerous water bodies.
Mattituck possesses some of the choicest Peconic -
Bay front, where the sloping sandy shore is espe-
cially suited for small children. A deep inlet from
Long Island Sound, widening into a safe harbor, --
provides pleasure boats with a haven from storms. ' + --
Mattituck is a good shopping town. It has on

active yacht club which sponsors week-end events.
Mattituck Creek oysters are widely sought after '`
Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church
for their exceptionally fine flavor.
