Its original. location was site of present Prese church. Was donated and then moved in
1853 to serve as a church for Methodist Episcopalians. In 1896 moved back from its
position on road and ineorporafed as apel in rear of new Methodist Church erected 1896.

The exterior 1830 portion carries older, if not the original , decorative elements:
panelled corner pilasters, panelled and molded architrave on original entrance doorway
laide not visible in photo). This older portion is also overlaid with decorative elements
of a later period: bargeboards supp2rted by large sawn brackets, shingled overhangings
ab.-re windows, gale decorations. The 1896 structure without these elements but incorporates
some good stained glass windows still in place.

'0. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
The structure is a complex unit incorporating 143 years of architectural
history. - from the simple rectan.�ular structure of 1830 with its early decorative
elements overlaid ,-ith late 19th century decorative trim and the 1896 church with
its more complex silhouette.
When church membership dropped in 1919, purchased by Mattituck Citncil #34, Jr.
Order of to United/American Mechanics (Feb. 1919). Interior converted lodge hall,
banquet room.
1;}60 - theater The Nrrth Fork Comaunity Theater has been said to represent one
of the very few unifying elements for the township.
